Even if you’re not a fan of progressive rock, chances are you’ve heard Jimmy Keegan’s drumming. Yes, he played with Spock’s Beard, and more recently, Pattern Seeking Animals, but Jimmy also has played with Santana, Kenny Loggins, and even Selena! Apart from a decades long career as a session drummer in the LA area, he’s also enjoyed success with acting and voice overs. Needless to say, Jimmy has lived an incredibly interesting life. We talked about the new Pattern-Seeking Animals record, Prehensile Tales (click here to pre-order), as well as his work with Spock’s Beard, his career as a session musician, the inner workings of the music industry, and much more. I really enjoyed this conversation with a musician I really admire, and I hope you do too.
