We are thrilled to have a chat with Raphael Weinroth-Browne, the prolific, award winning Canadian cellist who has played on over 50 full-length albums and has performed live with countless acts, including one of our favorite bands here at Proglodytes, Leprous. Raphael composes and performs in numerous projects, such as The Visit and Musk Ox. Raphael, along with Kamanche (four string spiked fiddle) player Shahriyar Jamshidi, have just released a follow up to their critically new album, Kamancello 2: Voyage. Raphael spoke about his musical upbringing, his training, his compositional approach, and musicians that inspire him.
